1.         Position Purpose

  • To strategically manage Warehouse, Transportation & General Office areas - including logistics & office management, inventory control, order processing, internal Customer Service, safety, and freight negotiations.

 

2.         Essential Functions & Principle Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement & enforce policies in alignment with corporate goals
  • Manage staffing, selection & retention function
  • Maintain effective vendor relationships
  • Act as positive role model
  • Supervisory function
  • Manage Shipping software systems
  • Make shipping supply decisions based upon quality and cost factors
  • Responsible for inventory control
  • Negotiate freight rates
  • Manage annual physical inventory
  • Manage program to accurately process & ship orders each day
  • Ensure carry-over is limited each day
  • Respond to customer concerns as required
  • Train internal customers in warehouse operations
  • Manage program to ensure inventory is correctly put away each day
  • Keep up to date on industry trends & evaluate their potential in our operations
  • Manage special projects as assigned
  • Work to limit product damage, product theft or product loss
  • Ensure accurate weekly cycle counting
  • Participate in meetings as required
  • Participate in annual budgeting process
  • Dependability

5.         Education/Training/Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Advanced education preferred
  • Five years plus distribution experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficiency at using material handling equipment
  • Detailed experience in metering small parcels
  • Experience negotiating with transportation carriers
