Job Summary: Inserters perform hand work as jobs demand it
 
Reports To:      Mailing Supervisor
 
Lean Expectations (Each employment anniversary year):
 
  • Participate in at least one Lean event or serve as an auditor, Guiding Coalition Member or on the safety committee; and
  • Implement at least one improvement idea; and
  • Participate in at least one educational experience such as job shadowing, cross-training, webinar, seminar, Lean networking tour, etc.
Production Responsibilities:
 
  • Insert flyers into shoppers and newspapers. Requires lifting 10-20 lb. Bundles. Requires bending.
  • Hand work such as stuffing envelopes, hand collating, labeling, etc. Requires bending.
  • Tie bundles and load skids. Requires lifting 10-20 lb. Bundles. Requires bending.
  • Move skids as required in and out of area with hand jack. Keep skids elevated/lowered to appropriate ergonomic work level.
  • Keep necessary records, as directed
  • Keep area neat and clean
  • Work in other departments as necessary
  • Follows all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Chemical Hazards, etc.
  • Performs job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.

Other Responsibilities: As directed
 
Job Qualifications:
 
  • Good hand and eye coordination
  • Accurate with numbers
  • Ability to lift between floor and shoulder heights
  • Ability to stand in one place for most of the work shift
