Mailing Crew Leader

Job Summary:  The Mailing Crew Leader is able to run the mailing department in the absence of the supervisor

 

Reports To:  Mailing Supervisor

 

Lean Expectations (Each employment anniversary year):

            A.         Participate in at least one Lean event or serve as an auditor, Guiding Coalition

                        Member or on the safety committee; and

            B.         Implement at least one improvement idea; and

            C.         Participate in at least one educational experience such as job shadowing, cross-                        training, webinar, seminar, Lean networking tour, etc.

 

Production Responsibilities:

            A.         Able to set up and operate mailing machines

            B.         Help with job planning and scheduling of jobs.

            C.         Possess maintenance knowledge of equipment

            D.         Follows and enforces all required safety procedures such as: PPE's, Ergonomics, Chemical Hazards, etc.  Performs job in manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.

            E.         Directs/provides on the job training for crew members.

 

Administrative Responsibilities:

            A.         Familiar with all postal regulations and publications

            B.         Complete paperwork and ensure mailing deadlines are met properly.

            C.         Fills in during supervisory absence.

 

Management of Personnel Responsibilities:

            A.         Capable of directing inserting crew

            B.         Capable of directing mailing crews

 

Other Responsibilities:  As directed

 

Job Qualifications:

            A.         Mechanical skills

            B.         Ability to comprehend postal regulations

            C.         Accurate with numbers

            D.         People skills
