Process Control Targets

Plates and proofs must be made consistently in order to produce predictable print runs. Process control targets can be used to diagnose, calibrate, and monitor imaging systems in prepress (proofing and platemaking) and in digital printing by measuring exposure, resolution, and directional effects.

Printing Industries of America offers a number of process control targets for proofing, plate-making, and digital printing. These targets are designed to use a minimal amount of space so that they can be included in the outside margins of the plate or proof. By imaging process control targets on every proof and/or plate, your prepress department will be able to monitor and control their processes more accurately, thus guaranteeing the same quality results from plate to plate, proof to proof, and, ultimately, job to job.
