William D. Schaeffer Environmental Award

Recognize an environmental advocate in the graphic arts industry! 

Nominations for the 2016 William D. Schaeffer Award are due by January 31, 2017. 


Award Background
Established in 1990, this award is named for environmental pioneer and researcher Dr. William D. Schaeffer (1922–2003), who is celebrated for his contributions to environmental issues facing the graphic communications industry. Nominations are judged by past Schaeffer Award winners and industry leaders. The recipient is presented with an engraved plaque at Printing Industries of America’s Spring Administrative Meetings.

Eligibility

Eligible candidates will be judged on how their actions benefited the industry in key areas, including:

  • Education
  • Public Relations
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Compliance Assistance
  • Regulatory Issue Involvement
  • Pioneering Efforts

Previous winners are not eligible for a second award. Candidates do not have to be Printing Industries of America members.
