Explore What’s on the Horizon at the 2018 SGIA Expo (Part 2)

In addition to the exciting educational slate at the 2018 SGIA Expo, we have scheduled many different events for a variety of printing communities. These events will let you network and connect with your peers to discuss the latest trends, ideas, technologies and applications impacting printing. These events, which take place off the conference floor, are hosted by individual SGIA committees and focus on the unique needs of each community. The cost is $30, but seating is limited, so early registration is recommended.

Women In Print Breakfast

Women in Print BreakfastWomen represent a minority of those working in the printing industry, and face unique issues as a result. Led by Kelly Korman Frey, who will discuss the challenges of being a woman in the industry, the Women in Print Breakfast will emphasize conversation and engagement as opposed to being a traditional lecture.

Brands Talking Sustainability Luncheon

Wrap Team Challenge

It may not be an Olympic competition, but it will feel that way to participants and spectators alike in the tournament style Wrap Team Challenge competition that takes place over the three days of the Expo. The contest is designed to see who can wrap the side of a car the fastest in the ultimate test of speed and precision. Each team consists of two installers, who will have 20 minutes to wrap the side of a car. The competition starts with 24 teams on Thursday, narrows to 12 teams on Friday and culminates with six teams on Saturday. Each day will feature vinyl from a different manufacturer. Up to $3,500 in prizes will be awarded among the top three teams.

An Opening Night Party Nonpareil

This year’s Opening Night Party will take place at the famous Tao Nightclub at the Venetian Hotel. It will be a special occasion to mark two significant developments in SGIA’s history. First, the 2018 SGIA Expo will be the last such Expo in the association’s history. The second reason for this special celebration is to introduce PRINTING United, the next iteration of the SGIA Expo, which will debut in October 2019 in Dallas.
