THREADX 2019: A Next-Level Look at Garment Decoration

With an eye toward the future, THREADX 2019, powered by SGIA (San Diego, February 17 - 19), will be a unique experience catered to the wants and needs of garment decorators with a fresh outlook on what is moving and shaking the industry.

THREADX Garment Conferences - Tim Williams“This group of presenters, topics, events and attendees will absolutely challenge, destroy and rebuild everything you thought you knew about operating in garment decoration,” said SGIA Garment Decorators Committee Member Greg Kitson, President, Mind’s Eye Graphics, Inc.

SGIA’s Garment Decorators Committee designed and launched THREADX in 2018 to help garment decoration business owners and managers better understand the industry and capitalize on trends driving the marketplace.

Evolving Industry, Evolving Conference

To align with the evolving industry, this year’s agenda — emceed by Th13teen’s riCardo crespo — will deliver the most relevant, impactful information to its attendees.

“The next version of garment decoration includes marketplaces, e-commerce and a focus on design and branding power. THREADX 2019 has been carefully curated to add value to attendees’ businesses in these and other critical areas,” said Garment Decorators Committee Member Christopher Bernat, Co-Owner, Vapor Apparel.

THREADX Garment Conference - AudienceAaron Draplin will set the tone for THREADX 2019 with a bonus, opening-day design workshop followed by his day two keynote, “Things that Don’t Have a Thing to do with Graphic Design,” which will offer insight into his practices and how he built his distinct brand.

Also pivotal for the programming is helping attendees better understand changing consumer culture. Two expert panels — one on live activation and the other on shifting sports merchandising trends — will address this topic in free-flowing discussions.

Additional sessions, such as “10 Tips to Improve Employee Engagement Ideas” and “Clueless to 100K,” will focus on establishing a strong corporate culture and branding practices that resonate with customers.

Closing keynoters Benny Gold and Bobby Hundreds will review some of the conference’s key takeaways while sharing their own perspectives of running clothing brands and retaining one’s integrity in an industry rooted in keeping up with trends.

THREADX Garment Conference - Sponsors“I could not be more pumped for THREADX,” said Tom Davenport, Garment Decorators Committee Member and CEO, Motion Company. “We have assembled educators and keynote speakers who are fast becoming legendary in the industry and I can’t wait to see them live at this year’s event.”

Come Together

In addition to its crucial education, THREADX is all about making connections. To foster a more engaging environment, this year's conference is moving away from traditional meetings and luncheons for more laid-back, casual events where attendees can chat and swap strategies over food, drinks and the beautiful city of San Diego.

A private beach awaits attendees for the Welcome Reception, encouraging relaxation and discussion before the night moves to Little Italy in San Diego for “Brews and BBQ at Ballast Point.”
