Technical Association of the Graphic Arts Student Ambassador Rachel Goldberg is an Industrial Design student at Rochester Institute of Technology. She loves using her hands to build and create. TAGA offers her a change of pace and the ability to learn how to make models, finished products, and 3D renders of objects that she designs or creates.

What school do you attend, and what are you currently studying?

I am currently studying Industrial Design at Rochester Institute of Technology.

What makes your major unique? What do you like most about your choice of major?

My major is definitely unique to TAGA! I love using my hands to build and create. I am able to make models, finished products, and 3D renders of objects that I design or innovate.

What do you like about being involved with TAGA and the student chapter?

It's different than what I do for class all day, so it gives me a good change of pace.

When you aren't studying, in class, or working, what are you doing?

I do track and field for RIT as a thrower. This got me into power lifting; I am at the gym a lot! When I am not maintaining a social life, I am painting and listening to music.

What city are you currently living in? What do you like most about it (favorite spots)?

Rochester, but I am from right outside DC, in Maryland. I love being so close to hiking spots, big cities (especially DC), beaches, mountains, and more.

What would your future dream job entail?

My dream job is to do CGI effects for Marvel studios, but I first need to learn anything about 3D effects and video animation.

What do you envision yourself doing 5 years from now?

Designing either outdoor sporting goods, excursion gear, or fitness equipment. I hope that my career allows me to travel as much as I can. I will also continue to lift and paint and possibly get my certification to train people on the side.
