Let’s face it: The functional/industrial printing sector is diverse. Printing everything from circuit boards to skateboards and everything in between, the sector is joined, mostly, by a handful of common imaging technologies. What makes them different is the extensive variety of materials and processes these companies use to mark or manufacture products. For this year’s Functional and Industrial Printing Luncheon at PRINTING United, we’ve chosen to address what all of these companies have in common: The quest for profitability.
In a thought-provoking, business-focused session, Erik Skie, Principal, Manufacturing and Distribution at CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, will present “Creating a Simpler Path to Profitability.” He posits that many printing companies’ costing systems make understanding pricing and profitability more complex than it needs to be, and that the resulting lack of understanding it brings can create barriers to true profitability. He will share how companies across today’s diverse printing sectors can use relatively simple information to create profound improvements in profitability and expand opportunities for growth.
In addition to Skie’s presentation — which I’ve heard, and very much enjoyed — the event will include lunch and a strong opportunity for members of the functional/industrial sector to meet up, share ideas, talk shop and build their networks. The Functional and Industrial Printing Luncheon takes place Wednesday, October 23, from 12 PM to 1:30 PM.
For this printing sector, this luncheon event is just one part of the broader PRINTING United experience. That experience also includes a full two-and-a-half days of educational programming specifically for this community; a massive, sold-out expo floor featuring the latest equipment, materials and consumables; and the collective genius of 30,000 printing industry professionals of all stripes, all in one place, and all seeking strong opportunity.
Tickets for the Functional and Industrial Printing Luncheon are $30, and can simply be added while registering for PRINTING United. I look forward to seeing you there!
