The following is a Q&A with Alliance member Qutub Bharmal, owner of Alpha BPO.
Please provide a brief background on your experience in the printing industry, what made you originally want to go into print, and your current role at Alpha BPO – Prepress.
With over a decade of experience in the printing industry, my journey began with a passion for the transformative power of print media. Drawn to the combination of creativity and technology, I chose to specialize in Digital Prepress to optimize workflows and enhance quality for printers and publishers. As the Owner and Prepress Expert at Alpha BPO, I lead a dedicated team in delivering top class digital prepress solutions, ensuring seamless integration with various printing systems, and driving efficiency and precision in every project.
Throughout your career so far, what has been your proudest accomplishment and your most difficult challenge?
Proudest Accomplishment: Leading innovative digital prepress solutions in collaboration with diverse printing houses across the U.S. and UK, optimizing workflows and efficiency in the production process.
Most Difficult Challenge: Navigating the shift to fully digital workflows amid rapid technological advancements, requiring extensive training and adaptation, but ultimately strengthening our team's resilience and adaptability.
What advice would you give to others considering a career in print?
My advice to those considering a career in print is to learn about both traditional and modern methods. Stay curious and keep learning about new technologies. Being able to solve problems and communicate well is important. Don't be afraid to be creative and adapt to changes as this industry is growing massively.
Why did you decide to join the Alliance? What resources do you plan to or have already utilized through your membership?
I decided to join the Alliance because I believe in the power of collaboration and networking within the printing industry. By becoming a member, I gain access to valuable resources, such as industry insights, best practices, and educational opportunities provided by the Alliance. These resources help me stay informed about the latest trends, technologies, and regulations affecting the printing business.
Additionally, being part of the Alliance allows me to connect with other professionals and businesses in the industry, supporting partnerships and opportunities for growth and development.
Are you planning on attending PRINTING United Expo this September in Las Vegas? If so, what are you looking forward to the most?
Being a new member of the Alliance, I haven't decided yet. But if I attended, I would definitely prioritize networking within my industry contacts and make the most of the three-day expo in Las Vegas. Building connections, exchanging insights, and exploring the latest innovations in printing technology would be my primary focus.
