SGIA Member Navitor Inc. Earns SGP Certification for Second Location

For Immediate Release June 11, 2013 Contact: Kat Thomas, SGIA 703.359.1360 kat@sgia.org Fairfax, Virginia – SGIA member company Navitor Inc. has achieved certification under the Sustainable Green Printing (SGP) Partnership for its Alto, Georgia facility, Navitor Southeast. This is Navitor’s second SGP Certification, following Navitor Midwest’s in 2011. To achieve this certification, SGP requires a facility to set annual sustainability objectives, or goals. The facility’s certification translates its commitment to sustainability into industry leading results that benefit clients and their customers. SGP certification requires print facilities to develop and implement a formal program for sustainability that delivers value and results. Its criteria includes development of a sustainability management system and integration of best management practices. To ensure continued growth, Navitor has committed to:
  • Providing a range of environmentally friendly offerings by employing materials derived from renewable sources
  • Encouraging the use of raw materials that will not harm future generations
  • Educating customers and ultimate consumers regarding the benefits of the restorative economy
“We knew that it would take a commitment on our part to become SGP certified, but the benefits would be well worth it, not only to us but our employees, our community and our world,” said Tara Perdue, safety and compliance coordinator for Navitor Inc. “We are so very proud of all of our employees who have helped us to get SGP Certified and still encourage each other on ways to keep improving our efforts. SGP Certification has inspired our employees to think more about recycling at home and in their community.” SGIA is your all-around sustainability resource, including the Sustainability Peer-to-Peer Network — where companies meet via teleconference to discuss and learn how to integrate sustainable business practices into their business operations.
