More and more painters are choosing screen printing as a technique to multiply their work, especially since Andy Warhol first used it in the 1960s. Many of them are supported by specialized and dedicated screen printers. Often, photographic methods and techniques involving halftones are used. A small number merely use manual techniques. Consequently, an autonomous work of art is produced, which will, in addition to the original painted work, lead a life of its own, and therefore have its own specific audience.
