Fairfax, Virginia — SGIA is ringing in the new year with the release of the 2015 Garment Workshop schedule, which includes five targeted training classes ranging from two days to a full week of education.
Held at SGIA’s state-of-the-art facility in Fairfax, Virginia, these educational events teach crucial techniques and applications for both beginners and seasoned professionals. Attendees gain an insider advantage and leave with the necessary tools to stay ahead in the garment industry. Featured workshops include:
Totally T-Shirts! Garment Screen Printing: Basic to Advanced (March 30–April 3; October 5–9)
Designed for individuals and shops that want to take their business to the next level, this workshop offers hands-on experience and plenty of practice with advanced screen printing techniques.
Screen Making: Basic to Advanced (May 11–15; December 14–18)
Beginning with the most basic methods and progressing to cutting-edge technology, students master the how and why of making screens for virtually every job.
Making the Switch: Water-Based Inks (September 17–18)
Learn from the experts why many high-end shops are making the move to water-based inks to satisfy the demand for quality, eco-friendly garments.
Operation Sublimation, Mission: Garment (October 15–16)
This class will start with the basics of small-format dye sublimation and the workflow for both soft (apparel, textiles) and hard goods (mugs, ceramics, awards/plaques), and will progress into more advanced wide-format systems, leaving you with a full range of knowledge for most every sublimation application.
