SGIA member Visual Impressions, located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, became the first SGP certified printer to join Wisconsin's Green Tier program as a Tier 1 participant under the recently signed Printing Industry Charter.
Entry into the program is voluntary and participation is governed by a legal agreement. Companies, communities and governments negotiate contracts and charters that are flexible, innovative, efficient and enforceable. Contracts and charters are linked to an organization's environmental management system to assure predictable performance, due diligence and continual improvement.
"The Wisconsin Green Tier program is another way we can leverage our sustainability program and efforts that we have already established by becoming a certified SGP printer nationally," said Marshall Atkinson, chief operating officer of Visual Impressions, Inc. "We look forward to partnering with both organizations to foster first class environmental business stewardship and business."
Under the charter, SGP printers located in Wisconsin can utilize their certification as the pathway to gain Green Tier status.
