Fairfax, Virginia — The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA) donated the $4,603.56 it raised in its 2018 SGIA Expo T-shirt sales to the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). The shirts were sold during the Expo at the Las Vegas Convention Center for $5 each.

“We were thrilled to be able to provide these funds to the Nevada SPCA,” said Erin Nuss, Manager of Workforce Development, SGIA. “We would not have been able to accomplish this without the generosity of the SGIA members who provided the design and materials to create the shirts.”

Designing the shirt for the second year in a row, Graphic Elephants captured the Las Vegas cityscape, celebrating the last SGIA Expo as it transitions to PRINTING United this October in Dallas. The other companies that donated their resources were Amagic, EasiWay, Fruit of the Loom, M&R, Murakami, PMI, Shur-Loc, Stretch Devices, Ulano/Kiwo and Wilflex PolyOne.

“It’s always an honor to be asked to be a part of creating and printing the event shirts for SGIA. This past year’s was particularly challenging and interesting because of the story we were charged with telling as we shift from the Expo to PRINTING United,” said Lon Winters, Founder and Managing Director, Graphic Elephants. “Being animal lovers, this particular cause is close to our hearts and we were happy to have been able to help.”

The Nevada SPCA was chosen based on its proximity to the 2018 SGIA Expo’s host city, Las Vegas. The nonprofit organization operates a no-kill animal sanctuary, promotes humane education, makes referrals for lower-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services, and challenges people to be the best possible guardians for the companion animals in their care.

“The Nevada SPCA receives no government funding. Our livelihood is dependent on donations like this one from SGIA to further our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and ultimately re-home the desperate animals in need that find themselves in our care,” said Kathy Jung, President, Nevada SPCA. “We can't thank them enough for this amazing donation.”
