JOB SUMMARY
Operates heat transfer press to apply preprinted graphic images to garments, fabrics, or other substrates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receives heat transfers with production order.
- Check transfer press for proper temperature, time and pressure settings in accordance with fabric and transfer type.
- Positions image according to job specifications.
- Adjusts temperature, pressure, and timing controls.
- Inserts garment, places transfer in proper position, and lowers application head.
- Releases head after appropriate time duration, removes garment after cooling.
- Removes transfer backing sheet and inspect imprint for proper adhesion.
- Adjust transfer press settings as necessary for maximum quality product and optimum production speed.
- Performs general maintenance on equipment.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Carries out conduct and leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to management, outside resources, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
