JOB SUMMARY
Make multiple cut pieces from patterns according to cut orders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- According to specifications, measures roll of material to be used to obtain common width.
- Obtain set of specified patterns by style on cut order sheet.
- Determines number of pattern pieces per size from size ratio on cut order sheet.
- Arrange pattern pieces on material so as to have correct assortment of fronts, backs and sleeves. Place fronts or backs on fold only as necessary.
- On each pattern piece drawn, make cut number, size, and part designation.
- On first section of material, write color, fabric, number, cut number, size ratio, number of layers, and length of material and width of fabric.
- Arrange sizes in sections so lay can be overlapped in designated areas.
- Make pieces for collars, inserts, or plackets in contrasting fabric, designating same cut number and other pertinent information.
- Enter all piece information in cut order book, including color of trim needed.
- Enter all information on cut-and-bundle sheet. Include bundling envelope for piece work ticket stubs.
- Perform other duties as needed or required.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Carries out conduct and leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to management, outside resources, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
