"Mural Arts Philadelphia was thrilled to work with Laminators Inc. on artist Jared Owens' newest mural, PhilaGuernica, at 12th and Callowhill," says Brian Campbell, Mural Arts project manager. "We chose to adhere the painted parachute cloth material to 32' x 12' 3mm D-Lite sheets on the surface of the wall, which served us well because the material is light and sturdy. This piece is particularly important because it was created as part of our Reimagining Reentry Fellowship program, which gives artists impacted by the justice system the opportunity to share their experiences through art-making. We hope this mural will be on display for the public to enjoy for a very long time."
Manufactured in the USA, D-Lite is one of Laminators’ thinnest panels and is 10 times more rigid than .040 aluminum—making it an economical alternative to aluminum sheet metal.
D-Lite is comprised of a high-density corrugated polypropylene that will not swell, corrode, rot, wick water, or delaminate—making it perfect for all outdoor or UV-exposed indoor applications. Its finished surface is high-gloss, factory-baked polyester painted aluminum on two sides or with a mill finish backer. D-Lite features a highly reflective painted surface which is warranted not to crack, chip, flake, or peel; and offers a Colorfast 10-year limited warranty.
Not only is D-Lite suitable for art murals, but because of its strength and rigidness, it can be used for architectural signage, corporate ID, digital print, fascia signs, multiple panel signs, wall and fence mounted signs, billboards, post & panel signs / real estate, dimensional letters / cut-outs, canopies, ADA compliant / wayfinding signs, POP displays & exhibits, and much more.
