Expert group of international industry experts — recognized for its significant contributions to the growth of screen and digital printing segments — welcomes 2022 member class nominations
Fairfax, Virginia — PRINTING United Alliance, the most comprehensive member-based printing and graphic arts association in the U.S., and its Academy of Screen and Digital Printing Technologies (ASDPT) announce that nominations are now being accepted for The Academy’s new member class as well as the Swormstedt and Joe Clarke Innovator Awards. More information and nomination forms can be found on the community page.
The Academy was established in 1973 to promote and encourage the development of screen and digital printing through technical papers and other means of fostering knowledge associated with imaging technologies for graphic, textile, industrial, and electronic printing applications. This international organization comprises expert printers, suppliers, and educators who have made significant contributions to the growth of the screen and digital printing industries.
The Academy: New Member Nomination Process
Nominations for new Academy members may be made by any industry professional and must also be officially recommended by at least two current Academy members to be considered. To submit a nominee, use this form.
“This is a special time of year for The Academy where the group has the opportunity to learn more about the extensive talent in our industry,” says Marci Kinter, secretary, ASDPT. “With such a large talent pool, we are looking forward to receiving nominations and welcoming those new members and awardees to receive this special honor.”
Members of The Academy are active in providing technical education, consultation, adjudication of printing image quality, and promotion of the technical and commercial development of the industry. The group regularly submits, reviews, and recognizes technical papers for publication, as deemed fit. Members of The Academy additionally recognize those in the industry deserving of awards for going above and beyond in their respective roles.
Special Award Programs for Nomination
The Dave Swormstedt, Sr. Memorial Award is presented annually to the author(s) of an article written on any aspect of screen printing or graphic imaging and published in the previous calendar year. Chosen by members of The Academy, winners of the prestigious Swormstedt Award are recognized for their outstanding writing ability and exceptional industry insight. PRINTING United Alliance members can nominate articles for the Swormstedt Award by contacting Kinter at mkinter@printing.org by Aug. 1.
The Joe Clarke Innovator Awards recognize professionals with the same selfless attitude in their work as Joe Clarke, a prolific innovator and contributor to the industry. Recipients in the following categories are named with this prestigious award each year: screen print (analog) printing technology, digital printing technology, and business innovation and software technology. Nominations for the Joe Clarke Innovator Awards must be submitted by Aug. 15 using this form.
