ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Illinois — SCREEN Americas announces the installation of the Truepress Jet520HD+ to KP LLC, a transactional and direct mail printer serving highly regulated industries including healthcare, legal, insurance, technology, government, retail and financial services. KP LLC chose to invest in SCREEN technology to uphold its stellar reputation in data management and accuracy when handling critical correspondence.
Founded in 1929, KP LLC has 400 employees and operates six facilities—three in California, one in Texas, one in Utah and one in Renton, Washington, where the Truepress Jet520HD+ resides. The company appointed Jamie Walker to serve as vice president of operations for the Renton facility. She was selected for her experience with inkjet technology and her expertise in transitioning companies to digital technology. Instrumental in the decision to purchase the Truepress Jet520HD+, Walker was pleasantly surprised to discover that a job that would have normally taken four hours on cut-sheet equipment took only 22 minutes on the SCREEN. “This saved us an incredible amount of time and money on labor,” said Walker. “And we got the quality we were looking for.”
Protecting customers’ data is essential to KP LLC and it needed a machine that offered exceptional variable data capabilities along with accurate color reproduction and speed. “Data integrity is critical to KP LLC,” said Ian Tolmie, vice president of sales for KP LLC. “With the SCREEN Truepress Jet520HD+, we are able to produce large quantities of variable content at high speeds.”
Chief Sales and Marketing Officer Brett Birky notes that the Truepress Jet520HD series’ ability to print on multiple substrates has been extremely valuable during a time when paper supplies are in demand. Since the press can print on both coated and uncoated substrates, KP LLC is able to offer its customers alternatives without interruption. This is key since more and more customers are spontaneous when placing print orders. The Truepress Jet520HD+ is scheduled to take on assignments from the company’s five other facilities. “We do a lot of cross-selling between our divisions,” said Birky. “The near infrared drying feature makes the press perfect for those last-minute jobs, including the ones that are not necessarily data-driven.”
The team at KP LLC initially became better acquainted with SCREEN Americas at the annual Inkjet Summit and PRINTING United convention. The executives at KP LLC found the SCREEN team to be very approachable at these events. “We identified SCREEN as a partner whom we could work with to help grow our business,” said Birky. “SCREEN Americas offered the entire package in terms of quality, uptime, service, support and return on investment.”
KP LLC and SCREEN Americas look forward to their partnership and exploring new ways to meet the demands of today’s print buyers. The Truepress Jet520HD+ will be handling more complex jobs and more volume for the company in the years to come.
