Adhesion Failure
Written October 16, 2019
Adhesion failure may take many forms and has many possible causes, including product mismatch and failure. The notes in this section deal with the most common causes of adhesion failure as they relate to processing parameters. The most common types of adhesion failure are delamination and lifting.
Delamination occurs when the film adhesive is not fully activated; however, some bonding occurs between layers. Lifting describes the condition where the adhesive was never fully activated and little bonding occurs.
