Job Summary
Operates computer and peripheral equipment to process data.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enters commands on computer and peripheral equipment to integrate and operate equipment.
- Loads peripheral equipment with selected materials for operating runs, or oversees loading of peripheral equipment by others.
- Enters commands to clear computer system and start operation.
- Observes peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on monitor of terminal to detect faulty operation.
- Enters commands to correct error or stoppage and resume operations.
- Notifies supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage.
- Clears equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
- Records problems which occurred, such as down time, and actions taken.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Carries out conduct and leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to management, outside resources, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs./p>
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
