Cylinder Screen Press Apprentice

Job Summary
Assists in the make-ready and set up of a cylinder screen printing press, maintains ink level during press operation, and loads feeder.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Obtains screens and ink according to press operator's direction.
- Assists press operator in setting up the press.
- Loads feeder with substrate during press operation.
- Ensures even delivery of printed sheets onto wicket or conveyor dryer.
- Adds ink or static-eliminating fluid as needed during press operation.
- Operate press in short absences of Press Operator.
- Performs routine maintenance on press, empty screens of major portion of ink following takedown, and cleans press after job is completed.
- Delivers screens to screen wash area and returns excess ink to inkroom.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Carries out conduct and leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to one-on-one and small group situations to management, outside resources, and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
