Digital Textile Printer Platforms
Written October 16, 2019
There are many direct to textile printers on the market, falling into two distinct categories. Printing directly onto textiles is one category, while the other is printing using dye sublimation ink onto transfer paper. Some of these printers may have heat ovens on the take-up side to set the direct print imaging inks.
Other types of printers have adhesive belts for material transport that will stabilize stretchy materials through the printer. Direct to textile printing can use many varied types of inks, each corresponding to a specific type of material. Dye sublimation is a process that is specifically used with Polyester synthetic materials. These printers come in various widths and production speeds depending on the inks used and the materials to be imaged.
