Job Summary
Plans, coordinates, and directs company quality program. Establishes quality and reliability standards for both internally produced goods and for incoming raw materials. Writes and documents quality inspection and testing procedures by performing the following duties personally or through assistant personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy standards.
- Formulates and maintains quality objectives and coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other company personnel to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
- Reviews quality instructions, specifications and production schedules to determine method of conducting inspections and audits.
- Prepares departmental budget and monitors expenditure of budgeted funds.
- Writes and documents quality inspection and testing procedures.
- Directs workers engaged in quality inspection activities to assure established quality standards are met.
- Maintains established procedures for vendor qualification and inspection.
- Maintains quality inspection of incoming materials and supplies for production.
- Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product quality and reliability.
- Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of supervisory and non supervisory personnel. Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies, procedures, safety, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning assisting, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Quality Management from four-year college or university; or three to five years of screen printing and/or digital imaging quality management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in work planning, scheduling, and must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations to printing jobs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
