San Joaquin District Air Permitting Issues

Any facility which plans to or does operate, construct, alter, or replace any source operation which may emit air contaminants or may reduce the emission of air contaminants is required to obtain an air permit.  In this Air District, printing, coating or laminating facilities using less than or equal to 2 gallons of graphic arts materials per day or if greater than 2 gallons per day, less than or equal to 30 gallons per year are exempt from obtaining an air permit.  Graphic arts materials are any ink, coating, adhesive, fountain solution, thinner, retarder, or cleaning solution.
