For Immediate Release June 13, 2013 Contact: Kat Thomas, SGIA 703.359.1360 kat@sgia.org   Fairfax, Virginia – Specialty imagers from all corners of the industry gathered last week for SGIA’s Color Management Boot Camp, where industry experts, Tony Quinn, of Nazdar Consulting Services, Jonathan Read of Ergosoft US and Jeff Burton, digital print analyst with SGIA, presented the unique aspects of large-format inkjet printing color management.   “I needed a jump start about color management. This was perfect,” said Kevin Currier of Durst US. “I wanted to be able to learn at the level my customers are learning at, and I was able to do that with this SGIA workshop.”   The highlight of the Workshop for Mike Syverson, Global Imaging Inc, was “gaining a decent understanding of G7 methodology and discussing profiling challenges with the experts.”   The Workshop, held June 4–6 in SGIA’s state-of-the-art facility in Fairfax, Virginia, featured a blend of lecture and hands-on instruction. Diving into topics like the goals of color management; color theory and principles; and time-tested color management procedures, attendees learned the best ways to streamline their production process through better color management.   Mikella Bean, a designer with Crazy ATV, was new to color management. “The instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. I really enjoyed the hands-on portions, as well as hearing from other attendees and getting input on issues from that audience,” she said. “This training will definitely help our company take things to the next level!”   If you missed it this time, don’t worry! The popular Color Management Boot Camp will return this fall (September 24–26). Check SGIA’s Events page for more information about this, and other, educational opportunities in 2013.
