Fairfax, Virginia — The 2013 SGIA Expo (Orlando, October 23–25) is three weeks away, and the deadline to enter your best prints in the prestigious Golden Image Awards Competition is almost here! The esteemed contest celebrates industry-leading excellence and covers almost every item, no matter how complex, created by specialty imaging.
“This is a great opportunity for companies to compete against the best in the specialty imaging community and display their work to thousands of Expo attendees,” said Johnny Shell, SGIA’s vice president of technical services.
All entries received by the October 11, 2013 deadline will be displayed in the Golden Image Gallery at the Expo, where they will be judged on Tuesday, October 22, 2013, prior to the opening of the show. Judges make their selections based on the basis of their technical skills, experience, and knowledge in the appropriate categories. Contenders will be evaluated on specific criteria by category that includes:
- Image definition
- Job complexity
- Registration
- Overall impression
- The highly-coveted Award of Excellence (Gold), recognizing the highest achievement possible in a given category
- The Award of Distinction (Silver), awarded for exemplary quality
- The Award of Merit (Bronze) for outstanding performance
- Or a certificate of Honorable Mention for commendable performance
- Every entrant is also considered for the "Best of Show" (digital, garment and graphic screen printing categories) and "Best in Creativity" (digital printing).
