M&R has added the Starlight ultraviolet (UV) LED screen exposure system to its product line. Starlight is NuArc’s tabletop or stand-mounted LED screen exposure unit. It is available in two sizes: one capable of exposing 23” x 31” screen frames (model 2331) and one capable of exposing 31” x 40” screen frames (model 3140). Both sizes are ideal for small-to-medium size screen printing shops, as well as small screen printers looking to upgrade from UV fluorescent screen exposure units, according to the company. The unit’s UV LEDs save energy costs, reduce screen exposure time, increase production and operate at lower temperatures than metal-halide lamps. Starlight exposes direct, capillary and indirect emulsions, and photopolymer emulsions can be exposed in as little as three to five seconds. The unit’s specially designed vacuum system features high-speed drawdown, and Starlight’s LED timer with digital readout ensures accurate exposures.
