Fairfax, Virginia — The highly anticipated Totally T-Shirts! Workshop (Fairfax, Virginia, November 10–14) came to a close on Friday, leaving garment printing professionals of all ability levels with new skills and techniques to take back to their businesses. “The class was an excellent way to learn the basics and build a solid foundation about screen printing,” said Justin Coleman, STAHLS DFC and first-time attendee. “I wanted to learn more about high tension screens, among other things, and this was really helpful.” Instructed by Charlie Taublieb of Taublieb Consulting, each day of the Workshop was packed with informative presentations followed by hands-on demonstrations. In SGIA’s state-of-the-art laboratory, attendees practiced each new process they learned, including:
  • Thick-film application
  • Exposure calculation
  • Stencil application
  • Manual and automatic printing press setup
  • Special-effect printing (including chocolate-scented ink!)
