Fairfax, Virginia — The Professional Decal Application Alliance (PDAA) was back in action with its sought-after Wrap Like a Pro Workshop (Fairfax, Virginia, March 11–12). For two full days, attendees of all experience levels learned new ways to achieve the best wrap possible. Rob Ivers, a PDAA Master Certified instructor with more than 30 years of experience, led both classroom instruction and hands-on demonstrations of best practices as well as how to install on complex curves and challenging surfaces. Attendees of the workshop included novice installers and experienced professionals — and everyone in between. “I want to start a business doing this,” said Max Wingo, a new installer and first-time attendee. “I don’t have any experience, so this workshop is incredibly helpful.” Jarrad McCarthy, Installation Manager at Fasttimes Screenprinting and Sign Co. and a 25-year veteran in the industry, had insight from the other end of the spectrum. “I’ve known Rob for about eight years; he’s the industry guru, so coming here and being able to learn from him is worth it. There’s always an opportunity to learn and improve, even at such a high level.” In addition to one-on-one time with Ivers, attendees collaborated and learned from one another as they practiced their new techniques. They swapped installation experiences as well as solutions with their fellow professionals, making new business contacts in the process.
