Light-Works Inc Extends Sustainable Outreach to Local Community

Light-Works Inc (Winooski, Vermont) is making significant changes within their company to support their dedication to sustainable business practices. With a thorough sustainability plan in place, they have seen immediate waste reduction and energy conservation, and SGIA has recognized their efforts by announcing them as a 2015 Sustainability Recognition Award honoree.  "Sustainability, social responsibility, green printing; however termed, has been a critical factor in the culture of Light-Works since our beginning in 1979," said Martin Feldman, President, Light-Works, Inc. They have revamped both their materials as well as their machines, including substuting PET for vinyl, purchasing a new latex printer to replace their laser photographic printer, expanding the use of "green" media, and using boards made from recycled content.  The company doesn't just focus internally, however. Light-Works is a founding member of the Vermont Environmental Business Partnership, and has been an active affiliate since 2006.
