For Immediate Release November 3, 2015 Contact: Renee Simpson, SGIA 703.359.1310 renee@sgia.org Atlanta, Georgia — The annual SGIA Printed Electronics Symposium (Atlanta, November 3–4) and the first-ever Industrial Printing Symposium (November 3–4) kicked off today, where attendees from both sectors explored high-level technology and new markets for their niche printing communities. Both events began the day before the 2015 SGIA Expo (November 4–6). The Printed Electronics Symposium started with Keynoter Craig Armiento, Director of the Printed Electronics Research Collaborative and Co-Director of the Raytheon-UMass Lowell Research Institute, as he shed light on the importance of corporate collaboration as a way to develop new technology. It was a full house as more presentations continued throughout the day, with captivated attendees taking advantage of Q&A opportunities. “It’s my first time attending the Printed Electronics Symposium,” said Hugh Plummer, Engineering Manager at TH Plastics, Inc. “We’ve begun to do some work with DuraTech Industries, and it will be great to get a better understanding of this specific technology. It’s wonderful to be here.” After a morning of targeted education at the Industrial Printing Symposium, seats and stomachs were both filled during the luncheon presentation which explored the evolving technology that is changing the industry as a whole. “We’re a startup company in the industrial applications industry, and the [Industrial Printing Symposium] sounded perfect for us,” said first-time Expo attendee Robert Lamb of Reardon Scientific. Both Symposiums will continue into Wednesday, November 4 — the first day of the SGIA Expo, where attendees can navigate through hundreds of exhibitors on the sold-out trade show floor.
