SGIA Recognizes 51 Member Safety Programs

Fairfax, Virginia — SGIA has recognized 51 member companies which, through their own self-inspection and verification, achieved excellence in safety in 2016. The members conducted bimonthly inspections of their facilities based on a checklist provided by SGIA. “Safety isn’t just necessary, it’s a good business practice that can lead to benefits including reduced costs and improved employee morale,” said Allison Lundy, Regulatory Assistant, Government & Business Information, SGIA. “Our Safety Recognition Program gives SGIA members the resources they need to create a safe working environment. The year-long program requires members to establish or update a safety plan and guides them through essential activities in five areas — written safety policy, worker participation program, workplace review, education and program evaluation.
