Significans Automation Inc., a leading global professional services company that creates customized automated graphic arts workflows, announces it is now the North and South American distributor for InSoft Automation and its Imp cost-based imposition software.
A winner of the coveted InterTech Technology Award, Imp is a unique offering in the market. It is a dynamic system for creating layouts that extend beyond standard optimal sheet usage and intelligently optimize costs throughout the production steps.
Sophisticated algorithms shrink job times from hours to minutes, eliminate steps, reduce labor costs, and increase productivity. Imp accepts multiple technical inputs for a job and in seconds dynamically calculates optimal layouts, estimates costs on various output devices from pre-press to finishing, and recommends which output device to employ. Job estimates are calculated in seconds, and accurate layouts can be used throughout the production process, including variable sheet cut offs, step and repeat applications, die cutting, foil stamping and embossing.
“Imp software and InSoft Automation have unique offerings that are a perfect complement for us. We both share the view that automated workflows and unmanned operations are the key to success in an age of robotics and artificial intelligence,” said Marc Raad, Executive Vice President of Significans Automation.
Significans Automation works with many imposition software systems. What sets Imp apart is its versatility, its vast array of features, its speed and its intuition. Raad explains, “Our team was impressed by how quickly Imp calculates an estimate and by the fact that it can complete several thousand layouts during one production shift. This represents huge cost savings for our customers.”
“We discussed this partnership with Significans Automation for several months before signing. Both of us understand that executing core tasks efficiently is how graphic arts firms make money. Significans also brings a level of technical expertise that is not easy to find in this industry,” said Santosh Mulay, Vice President, Business Development, of InSoft Automation. “This will be a great partnership.”
Imp is a modular system that works with all graphic arts applications including books, packaging and labels, large-format output and commercial printing. High versatility means users can buy each module separately and update the software as they add new applications to their service offerings. Imp is compatible with all output technologies, including offset, digital sheet and web, inkjet, and flexo.
Brought to market in 2011, Imp currently has a global clientele centered in Europe, the Americas and the Middle East. The software can be merged into an existing MIS system or function as a stand-alone system.
