Ricoh USA Inc. today announced Cirrus Visual has added a new chapter to the story of its ongoing growth and partnership with Ricoh, adding capacity to support its digital print business, which has increased by 60% since adding Ricoh five-color presses in 2016. Since moving into a new, larger facility, Cirrus Visual’s expanded service offerings, high-quality applications and fast turnarounds have proven incredibly popular, to the point that demand began to outpace capacity. With the implementation of a RICOH Pro C9210, the print provider has been able to further expand its digital print business, driving faster turnaround times, greater customization and more competitive pricing. At the same time, the C9210’s vast media flexibility has greatly expanded Cirrus Visual’s design team’s creative toolbox.
Over the years, Ricoh and Cirrus have worked together to expand the marketing service provider’s capabilities as it has looked for ways to drive faster turn times and lower operating costs without sacrificing the quality for which the shop is known. In 2016, when Cirrus wanted to add presses to handle increased demand and take advantage of their design team’s abilities, they turned to Ricoh and its five-color solution. When Cirrus decision makers needed to add more throughput with high uptime without sacrificing speed or image quality, they knew from experience they could turn to Ricoh.
“When we moved into the new facility and added Ricoh’s five-color presses, we knew demand was growing. The good news is, we were right. Since implementing Ricoh’s five-color presses, our digital print volume has jumped 60%. But then we encountered the best problem any provider can have: Customer demand was outpacing our capacity,” said Brandon Blair, President, Cirrus Visual. “While it’s great to have such high demand, we knew we needed to make a change to ensure we continued to deliver on our commitment to exceed each and every client expectation, including turnaround times. By adding the RICOH Pro C9210 alongside our other Ricoh presses, we had the workhorse we needed to remain true to that commitment. Additionally, we wanted to give the design team a chance to spread its wings with a wider array of substrates than ever before. The RICOH Pro C9210 was the perfect fit.”
The RICOH Pro C9210 production color sheet-fed printer provides an affordable, predictable way for businesses to maximize revenue due to its uptime and reliability. The 135-page-per-minute (ppm) press supports media weights up to 470 gsm and has the capacity to run the longest paper lengths in the market today: 49 inches simplex and 40 inches auto-duplex. Complementing its laser resolution of 2,400 x 4,800 dpi and large color gamut, in-line sensors automatically aid improved front-to-back registration and color calibration, without requiring advanced operator skills. The larger 17-inch Smart Operation Panel brings new job- and workflow-management options directly to the device, on a single screen, including the ability to monitor and manage print jobs remotely through either an EFI Color Controller or the RICOH TotalFlow Server.
“In the years we’ve been partnering with Cirrus, it has been incredible to watch their business grow,” said Sho Yamazaki, Vice President, Strategy, Commercial & Industrial Printing Business Group, Ricoh USA, Inc. “We make it a point to develop a deep understanding of what makes our customers tick, so we can help them strategize and execute on the best way forward that plays to their strengths and drives growth. Cirrus has proven a great collaborator, with decision makers putting in the hours and the trust with our technicians and experts to develop the perfect plans to drive growth. Because of that effective partnership, Cirrus has been able to drive customer demand — and it has been able to scale its business to meet that demand, while also delivering faster turns and more competitive pricing. We’re honored to be a partner in their continuing growth.”
