GMG, the leading developer and supplier of high-end color management software solutions, announces it will be demonstrating its wide range of color management tools this spring during ISA Sign Expo, Graphics Canada and FTA INFOFLEX.

“No matter what your print focus is, GMG offers color management solutions that respond to challenges facing every facet of the printing industry,” comments Paulo Monteiro, VP Sales, GMG Americas. "We’re making ourselves available at a number of venues to talk with any printer — commercial, packaging or wide format — and discuss how we can resolve their color challenges.”

A strong presence in Canada
Companies interested in diversifying their print product portfolios all share at least one requirement: color must be consistent throughout all print processes — whether traditional or digital, and from packaging to point-of-purchase displays to marketing brochures. At booth 5500C during Graphics Canada, April 11 - 13, GMG will show its full range of color management tools. "Canada has a very competitive community of printers who not only compete among themselves, but with printers in the United States. We can deliver tools to truly differentiate each of them,” remarks Monteiro. The GMG booth will focus on the most recent release of GMG ColorProof and GMG OpenColor.

For years, GMG ColorProof has been the preferred solution for efficient and safe contract proofing. It offers uncompromising color consistency and comes pre-loaded with color profiles of all common global standards, so users can get started right away. Its reliability and remarkable performance make it an indispensable tool among leading color management experts. To print the first proof, users just select the printer, calibrate it, and they are ready in just a few steps. It’s also possible to assign spot color sets to all connected printers, which enables users to keep their setup easily synchronized to their spot color database. This saves time, especially for power users who use multiple printers and load balancing.

With the increasing use of multi-color printing and different combinations of inks, substrates, screening, and other variables, packaging printing involves a lot of color fingerprints and profile tweaking. GMG OpenColor is a profiling technology that precisely predicts the color appearance of printed inks, particularly ‘overprints’ — inks printed on top of each other — without requiring extensive fingerprinting. The award-winning multichannel software is a powerful solution that is easy and quick to characterize offset, flexo and gravure printing processes with 10-plus colors of overprinting inks. GMG OpenColor can even quickly create GMG DotProof profiles with spot colors even for special substrates like foil or metal. GMG OpenColor can dynamically create and deliver best-quality separation and preview profiles to GMG ColorPlugin, in Adobe Photoshop and HYBRID Software’s PACKZ. GMG OpenColor has been adopted by major suppliers and brands worldwide, a strong endorsement of this exciting technology.

Color management tools and workflows are featured at ISA Sign Expo
“Sign printers need accurate and consistent color, as well as a production system that allows them to keep up with their digital presses and tight deadlines,” says Monteiro. “It is critical to implement color management to assure that artwork matches brand colors, as well as all materials at point-of-purchase.” GMG will demonstrate its color management and automated workflow tools for wide format at booth #861, during the ISA Sign Expo, April 23 - 26, in Las Vegas. GMG will focus on GMG ColorServer and PrintFactory.

Print providers require that all digital presses on the plant floor must output consistent and exact color on all substrates. GMG ColorServer provides a centralized system that ensures reliable color at the highest-quality standards. With GMG ColorServer, users can oversee color for every digital press on the floor, saving time and money. Separations and conversions are no longer associated with an enormous amount of work. Supporting GMG ColorServer is GMG SmartProfiler, a software-wizard that allows any user to calibrate, recalibrate and profile digital, large-format and traditional printing systems easily and without advanced color management knowledge. With a centralized color management system, different front ends, RIPs and printing processes no longer need to be individually configured and synchronized.

SaaS-based PrintFactory Cloud delivers a simplified workflow process allowing large-format print service providers to operate under lights-out automation. Giving PSPs the ability to automatically schedule jobs, carry out production tasks in the cloud and intelligently calculate the most efficient nest to minimize waste, it equips print shops with an intuitive and future-proof system that ensures businesses can run in the most efficient, reliable and cost-effective way. PrintFactory features include: Dynamic nesting automation; browser-based dashboard offering full control over production process; Industry 4.0 device integration; real-time reporting; job tracking with track and trace IDs; and live MIS connector and extensive API to connect third-party workflows.

GMG to highlight GMG OpenColor and color-accurate prototypes at FTA INFOFLEX
GMG is focusing on GMG OpenColor 2.2 — the most recent version of the past FTA Technical Innovation award recipient — and color-accurate prototypes using Epson SureColor S80 Series printers at booth 831 during FTA INFO*FLEX 2019, to be held May 6 - 7 in New Orleans. "GMG provides brand owners and converters color management to assure their packaging preserves consistent and accurate color—one of their most significant flexo pain points,” states Monteiro.

Color-accurate prototypes
Many systems create prototypes that only resemble the final product. With the Epson SureColor SC-S80600, coupled with GMG OpenColor and GMG ColorProof software and its complete line of prototyping substrates, users can finally create prototypes that look and feel exactly like the final product. A wide variety of different prototyping substrates is available, including multiple shrink films, folding carton materials, metallic films, adhesive-backed substrates, clear materials — and even transfer films for making prototypes on the actual press materials. GMG can deliver the complete package: the digital printer, the software, the substrate, inks and installation.

"With our complete prepress color and workflow solutions, GMG always enjoys showing printers the many ways we can improve both job quality and production efficiency,” summarizes Monteiro. “Not only is it achievable, but it’s easy to do. We look forward to demonstrating how GMG tools can make the color management process so much simpler.”
