Effective May 1, 2019, Hackworth Reprographics, Inc. has acquired an ownership stake in the Chantilly, Va.- based Creative Document Imaging (CDI). Hackworth is a 27-year-old, family-owned small business based in Chesapeake, Va. Hackworth provides printing, design, graphics, signage, marketing services and wide-format equipment to companies throughout the mid-Atlantic region.
“Hackworth and CDI have been strong business partners for several years. Hackworth’s business has grown substantially in the NOVA/DC/MD marketplace, so this ownership opportunity was a natural evolution in our relationship with CDI. We love that both companies have a history of taking care of our employees and providing excellent customer service. In addition to strengthening our equipment install base, we are excited about bringing our graphics and signage expertise to the region,” says Charles G. Hackworth II, Vice President for Hackworth.
CDI opened its first print shop in 2004 and currently has four locations in the Northern Virginia area — Chantilly, Fairfax, Woodbridge and Manassas. CDI customers will not see any immediate changes, however, there is a plan to expand current products and services in the future. Maurice Briddell will continue to run day-to-day operations as the managing partner. CDI offerings include construction document printing, scanning and wide-format equipment sales, service and supplies.
Hackworth’s in-house printing capabilities include blueprinting, books and manuals, scanning, industrial screen printing, vehicle wraps, fleet graphics, magnets, banners, window graphics, direct print to rigid substrate (wood, aluminum, plastic, acrylic and coroplast), website design and marketing services. Wide-format equipment dealerships include HP, KIPAmerica, Canon, Colortrac, Contex and Graphtec.
Hackworth was voted the Hampton Roads Chamber Small Business of the Year in 2017 for the City of Chesapeake and has been recognized nationally as a Top 50 Print Shop by Wide-Format Magazine for five years running.
