Burmilana thread, distributed by The PAS Store, is a great choice for any embroiderer wanting to add interest, texture and dimension to a design. This thick thread is made of a blend of 50% natural wool/50% acrylic, which also makes it soft and durable.
Burmilana is an ideal choice for making machine embroidery look like hand-sewn embroidery. It gives a natural, ethnic or vintage look and adds character when used in mixed media. It can also be used to create fur or feathers, when stitches are brushed with a stiff wire brush. This 12 weight thread can be used for chenille, loop pile or chain stitch embroidery.
It comes in 135 solid colors and 12 stylish variegated tones. The recommended needle size is #100/16, and for digitizing it needs an average 9.0 density. It’s Oeko-Tex® certified to be free from harmful substances.
