Print service providers looking to increase their productivity, maximize their prepress, workflow, ink and plate efficiencies, and provide the best colors and highest image quality to customers will want to visit Agfa at the PRINTING United trade show (booth #8242) in Dallas, from Wednesday, October 23, to Friday, October 25, 2019, to learn about Agfa's ECO³ philosophy.

The show will feature the North American launch of Agfa's new patented screening technology, SPIR@L, which replaces traditional dots with more efficient shapes such as spirals to increase quality and reduce production cost. SPIR@L is the latest addition to Agfa's ECO³ program, which focuses on economy, ecology and extra convenience.

Designed for both heatset and cold set web printing, SPIR@L makes it possible to hold dots from press to paper ranging from 1 to 99% without any additional effort, guaranteeing vibrant colors and sharp images.

ECO3 Software Suite

Agfa's ECO³ philosophy — ecology, economy and extra convenience — form the foundation of Agfa's solutions that help enhance productivity and efficiency throughout the entire production process. ECO³ products deliver the best colors, the highest image quality and optimal printing stability. In addition to the new SPIR@L screening solution, Agfa will be demonstrating the following advanced ECO³ solutions:

  • PressTune: standardizes and streamlines production workflow, offering consistent colors and reduced makeready times up to 40%. Lower ink and paper consumption increase productivity and improve communication between prepress operators, quality managers and print buyers. With analytics and real-time reporting to stakeholders, PressTune optimizes production flow, evaluating print jobs and identifying potential issues before they occur.
  • InkTune: building on gray component replacement (GCR) technology, InkTune dynamically substitutes CMY inks with black ink. As an intuitive software solution that is fully integrated into the prepress workflow, InkTune uses Agfa-unique technology to reduce ink use up to 30%, while maintaining color fidelity. The reduction of ink has a positive cost-savings impact and increases overall production efficiency with quicker drying times. Quality levels increase as rosette structures disappear and color deviations become less visible.
  • PrintTune for Sign & Display: a comprehensive audit tool that helps manage a PSP's business across all wide-format devices for consistency. PrintTune improves efficiencies at print sites, centralizes feedback and provides greater visibility to print buyers and brand managers.

"Our ECO³ products, SPIR@L Screening, InkTune, PressTune and PrintTune offer new ways for PSPs to profit and grow. At Agfa, our commitment to sustainable innovation guides how we design and create our solutions to make prepress and printing operations cleaner, more cost-effective and easier to manage and maintain. Agfa's unique ECO³ approach helps PSPs generate greater business value," said Deborah Hutcheson, Agfa, Director of Marketing.

Agfa, a Platinum sponsor of PRINTING United, will be located in booth #8242. The show is being held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center October 23 - 25.
