FUJIFILM Dimatix, the world's leading provider of inkjet printheads for commercial and industrial printing, is pleased to announce the launch of the DIMATIX Samba G5L, the latest generation in the Samba printhead family at the virtual PRINTING United Digital Experience (Oct. 26-Nov. 12, 2020).

Leveraging state-of-art silicon micro electro-mechanical systems manufacturing (SI-MEMS), the DIMATIX Samba G5L printhead has a unique parallelogram design on the nozzle plate to offer simplified printhead stitching — enabling integration in production environments. The DIMATIX Samba G5L also offers a 30%-45% larger drop size (3.5 – 13pL)1, providing higher in coverage at production speeds at 1,200x1,200 or 1,200x600 dpi printing to produce color rich prints.

Additionally, the DIMATIX Samba G5L’s design of a single printhead width of 43mm (1.7˝) can be configured to make a compact print bar of any width in order to scale to various print applications. Its extensive fluid compatibility, and broad ink latitude from a robust non-wetting coating on the nozzle plate, offers robust functionality for inkjet printing and materials deposition.

Optimized for single-pass, the DIMATIX Samba G5L offers a fast priming, higher standoff capability (up to 4 mm, without air assist and up to 5 mm with air assist), and reduced maintenance cycles from multi-level ink recirculation, to limit downtime.

“With features enabling faster print speed, more versatility and better uptime, the DIMATIX Samba G5L was engineered to meet the evolving needs of the corrugated packaging and textile industry, said Bailey Smith, senior VP, sales, marketing and business development, FUJIFILM Dimatix Inc. “We are pleased to unveil our latest technology – the new DIMATIX Samba G5L printhead. The DIMATIX Samba G5L will enable faster print speeds, and better uptime, allowing our customers to remain competitive and deliver outstanding results.”

An early adopter of the new printhead is BHS Corrugated headquartered in Weiherhammer, Germany. BHS Corrugated chose the DIMATIX Samba G5L for its newly developed RSR® (Roll to printed Sheet in Real Time) Printer for Corrugated Box Plants.

Commenting on the selection Maximilian Mark, product manager digital print at BHS note, “After evaluating several printheads in the market place and in close co-operation with our technology integrator SCREEN, selecting the DIMATIX Samba G5L turned out to be the right decision. Our development program proved that the DIMATIX Samba G5L printheads enable linear speeds up to 300 m/min whilst maintaining sellable print quality. It`s high sustainable performance as well as it`s longevity when given proper care are crucial properties for our application in the corrugated industry.”

At the virtual PRINTING United digital experience, FUJIFILM Dimatix will be discussing trends in industrial printing on Nov. 11 Industrial printing day. In addition, there will be a variety of videos and educational materials that attendees will be able to download. Please visit printingunited.com for more information.
