Epson announced it has won two PRINTING United Alliance 2020 Product of the Year Awards — the SureColor F6370 won in the “Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Metal” category and the SureColor F10070 won in the “Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Textile ($50K-$100K)” category. Previously called the SGIA Product of the Year awards, this marks the sixth consecutive year the Epson SureColor F-Series dye-sublimation printer line has received the prestigious award. Epson’s full line of SureColor F-Series dye-sublimation printers will be displayed during Epson’s Insight Days showcase at PRINTING United Digital Experience on Nov. 9 and 12, 2020.
“We are committed to delivering the most advanced dye-sublimation printers to meet the needs of this growing industry,” says Tim Check, senior product manager, professional imaging, Epson America. “We are thrilled to be honored once again with this distinguished industry award. The SureColor F6370 and F10070 represent the best of the industry —offering innovative features and the most advanced imaging technology designed to deliver customers high performance and reliability.”
Open to all PRINTING United Alliance supplier members, the Product of the Year competition evaluates products that are, or will be, available for sale in 2020. A highly qualified panel of judges from across the printing industry evaluated the annual contest’s 200-plus entries in more than 85 categories spanning analog, digital, output, and non-output technologies. Output devices are judged based on reports generated by measuring color charts and then comparing to industry specifications.
“This is the only competition I know of that reports on the percentage of Adobe RGB a printer can hit,” says Ray Weiss, director of digital print programs, PRINTING United Alliance. “The competition was so fierce this year, that in some cases, categories were decided by tenths of a point. Representing the best of the best among commercial hardware, I congratulate Epson on its two wins.”
