Summary:

A discussion and review of work done by the Research Department of the Danish Graphic Arts College on the measurement of the amount of gum adsorbed to a zinc surface using the anthrone method. The substances included in the study were gum arabic, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), and carboxymethylstarch (CMS). CMC was adsorbed to the Zinc surface in greater amounts than was gum arabic, and should be more effective as a densensitizing agent than gum arabic.
