This report describes a method of directly calculating the main, bump and flash exposure times for halftones made with contact screens to produce the desired dot sizes in three control patches. The strategy of the method is given, but the derivation of the halftone equations is omitted, to be given in a future report. Camera flare and reciprocity failure are accounted for in the equations. A step-by-step procedure for finding halftone exposure times and an illustrative example are included.
