Summary:

Light colors produced by solid layers of a Colorant, and colors of a similar luminous reflectance made of halftone prints of the same concentrated colorant are found to differ in dominant wavelength and purity. The nature of the differences expressed as the variation of the ratio of the reflectances of the two kinds of prints as a function of wavelength is illustrated.
