This report is based on a survey of 233 commercial printing companies conducted by PRINTING United Alliance. Participants offer products such as direct mail, marketing collateral, periodicals, and point-of-purchase displays to end markets extending from advertising agencies to storage centers. Their annual sales range from less than $500,000 to more than $300 million.

Topics include diversification beyond commercial printing; what concerns commercial printers most; their plans for building margins in 2023; the capital investments they would most like to make, their expected investment rates and objectives; how work on hand, payroll production hours, and other leading business indicators are trending; and expectations for major commercial printing products and end markets.
