Summary:

Electronic systems of breaking up an original into halftone elements have been growing for some time alongside the constantly evolving traditional graphic arts procedures. High speed digital calculation and modulated laser beams make a new system of screening 1-color separations feasible. Using the Chromagraph DC 300 as an example, the author shows the growing application of the comparatively novel laser light source in the printing industry.
