Electrostatic Sheet Control on Lithographic Presses.

Electrostatic forces can control the movement of paper and board sheets. The application of this powerful tool has been made possible by recent research advances. An exposition of theories and equations of emitter-electrostatic charge deposition on sheets of paper and board being transferred through multicolor lithographic presses is presented. Bench test results obtained with various emitter configurations are described and field tests are reported. System components and electrical circuitry are described with emphasis on functional performance and operator protection aspects.
