Summary:
Adjustments of lightness and color balance are much less critical for a transparency than for a reflection print. Consequently, adjustments have to be made in the reproduction process to compensate for variations between transparencies. An apparatus is described for evaluating transparencies and determining the required adjustments In this apparatus. The transparency is viewed with a standard white border so that it looks like a print, and the color balance and brightness of the transparency illumination but not the border can be varied until it appears satisfactory. Methods of adjusting the reproduction process in accordance with this setting are described.
