Interactive Computer, System for the Newspaper Process.

In Finland an intensive project for developing an Interactive Newspaper System has been going on for a year. This is a modular computer software system for applications including design of display ads, classified ad processing, editing of text, and pagination. The final result is a digital image of the text contents and layout of the pages of the newspaper. This image can be output as control commands for photocomposition or engraving the text in accordance with the desired page layout. A prototype of the system is now in its demonstration stage.
